SCHED_DEADLINE: what's next?

Abstract

Last year saw a considerable amount of development around SCHED_DEADLINE (bandwidth reclaiming, coupling with clock frequency selection, group scheduling, etc.), but a lot still remain to be discussed and implemented.

In this session, Claudio Scordino will present on current features being developed and outline possible future directions to seek feedback from the audience and help steer developments for the coming year.

Audience

The audience is everyone interested in real-time systems & scheduling. People already familiar with the SCHED_DEADLINE scheduling class are particularly welcome to attend the session and contribute to a profitable discussion.

Biography

Claudio Scordino, Evidence SRL

Claudio Scordino obtained a Master degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2003. In 2007 he received the Ph.D. with a thesis about power-aware real-time scheduling. He has collaborated with the Linux kernel community since 2008, mainly on the SCHED_DEADLINE scheduler. He currently works at Evidence Srl, also collaborating to several European R&D projects.
