Last year saw a considerable amount of development around SCHED_DEADLINE (bandwidth reclaiming, coupling with clock frequency selection, group scheduling, etc.), but a lot still remain to be discussed and implemented.
In this session, Juri Lelli will present on current features being developed and outline possible future directions to seek feedback from the audience and help steer developments for the coming year.
The audience is everyone interested in real-time systems & scheduling. People already familiar with the SCHED_DEADLINE scheduling class are particularly welcome to attend the session and contribute to a profitable discussion.
Juri Lelli received a BS and a MS in Computer Engineering at the University of Pisa (Italy). He then earned a PhD degree at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa, Italy (ReTiS Lab). He is one of the original authors of the SCHED_DEADLINE scheduling policy in Linux, and he is actively helping maintaining it. He is currently working at ARM Ltd., where he continues contributing to the Linux scheduler development, with a special focus on energy aware scheduling and power management.
